An Enid Collins purse is an essential for any true vintage purse collector to own.
With their fun and whimsical designs and their witty names it is easy to amass a whole collection of them!
Enid Collins originally started out by making purses for her personal
use, then began selling them at boutiques near where she lived in
Texas. Eventually the purses were being sold all across the country.
The pinnacle of their popularity was during the 1960s.
I have two good resources to recommend to you for learning more about Enid Collins and her bags:
* The website CoolOldStuff has an article about the purses.
* And the book Popular Purses: It's in the Bag!
by Leslie Pina and Donald-Brian Johnson has a section with the history
of the brand. (This is my favorite book on collecting purses- it is
very informative and the values that they list for the purses are

This past Saturday I invited my friends over to my house to get dressed up in hats.
With our heads bedecked in fabulous hats we headed over to Pix Patisserie and had champagne and dessert.
Afterwards we went to The Hat Museum where we were lead around on a tour by the museum's owner/curator Alyce.
We had lots of fun!
If you ever find yourself in Portland, I would definitely recommend that you take your own trip to The Hat Museum as well as to Pix Patisserie !

In 2002 their relationship was highlighted in an exhibition titled "When Philip met Isabella" which featured sketches and photographs of Isabella wearing Philip's designs.
