Last Saturday when I was digging through my personal vintage clothing collection I came across a couple of beaded flappers dresses. I wanted to wear one to The Stolen Sweets c.d. release concert. I was leaning towards wearing a weighty orange beaded one similar to the one pictured above. But, then my fiance convinced me to wear a black beaded one. I put on an ultra long beaded necklace, wore a rhinestone tiara in my hair, shoved my feet into some extremely narrow flapper-esque shoes, grabbed a Whiting & Davis mesh purse with rhinestone closure and I was ready to go. I love dressing up, so, I jumped at the chance to do so!
When we got to the concert there were not very many people dressed up and at first I was a little embarrased by my zeal in dressing up. But, then during the intermission I ended up winning the costume contest that they were having.
The sweet and lovely cotton candy pink beaded flapper dress pictured above can be bought over at Antique Dress (when you go to the website the dress is located about 3/4 of the way down the page).
Antique Dress has lots of flapper dresses from a European collection. If you are looking for a 1920's dress this is the place to go!
