National Tie One On Day

LuluComment

Today is National Tie One On Day when EllynAnne, author of The Apron Book encourages us "to pause in the preparation of our own meal, wrap a loaf of bread in an apron, tuck a prayer or note of encouragement in the pocket, and tie one on...an apron, of course!, and deliver the wrapped bundle to someone in need of spiritual or physical sustenance".

This morning I baked a lemon cake, and then I dug through my vintage apron collection and picked out this lavender and white gingham half apron which has a butterfly embroidered on it and is trimmed with rick rack, to give to my good friend who has two little girls and who is pregnant with a baby boy.
