Iowa: Danish Windmill; Dorothea's Closet Vintage; Louis Sullivan "Jewel Box" Bank in Grinnell

Chris and I got off of the main freeway that cuts across Iowa and ventured up into the countryside. Along the way we saw a giant windmill and a replica of the Little Mermaid. Something that really stood out to us about the part of the Iowa countryside that we were driving through was the obvious pride of ownership that the farmer's had for their property. The houses, barns, silos and property were all immaculately tended to. After the country drive we headed into Des Moines where we met Angela the owner of Dorotheas Closet Vintage. We then took some photos of the Jaume Plensa "Nomade" sculpture and the giant trowel. Our last and final stop in Iowa was the small town of Grinnell where we visited a Louis Sullivan bank.

It was nice to meet (in person) Ang of Dorothea's Closet Vintage and explore her store. As one might guess from her online store, her bricks and mortar store was stocked with amazing things...
