Itasca State Park

LuluComment

Since Chris and I weren't able to have a relaxing getaway on the train we decided to book a cabin at a state park. Chris did some research and found that Itasca State Park had cabins with fireplaces and screened in porches.

Other than a smoke alarm incident that consisted of us, on the night we arrived, lighting a fire in the fireplace and the smoke alarm responding by beeping every minute overnight while we tried to sleep, we had a wonderful time at Itasca. Our cabin was cute, cozy and relaxing. While we were staying in Itasca we ate every meal at the restaurant that was located in the lodge, most of the times we were seated at the same table with a nice view of the lake and of the hummingbird feeders that were just outside the window. We went on a bike ride in the park to see where the Mississippi River begins (it's just a little stream), went on several walks/hikes in the park and had a nice time overall.
