TCM Classic Film Festival 2012 Wrap Up

LuluComment

I was exhilarated by the TCM Classic Film Festival. During our stay in L.A. I was getting only four to five hours of sleep a night but, I was riding on a wave of adrenaline from the film festival. My fullest day of movie watching was Saturday when I watched movies from 9:30 in the morning until 11:00 at night.

I have never before experienced anything like the TCM Classic Film Festival. The sense of camaraderie at the festival was incredible. Whether waiting in line to get into the theaters or sitting in the theater before the movie started it was inevitable to strike up a conversation with whomever was next to you. Everyone was very enthusiastic about the movies and the festival. Most of the people that I met had flown in from the East Coast or from the South for the festival. People who were attending the films were going to those particular movies because they were genuinely interested in them. It's not like seeing movies that are currently showing where a lot of people go because of the hype or from a friend's recommendation. The people attending the movies at the festival were going because they had never seen it before on the big screen, because it was their favorite movie, or had their favorite actor in it, etc...

The TCM Classic Film Festival was an amazing experience! I would highly recommend attending it.

I am looking forward to next year's festival!

Hand & Foot Prints in the Grauman's Chinese Theatre Courtyard

One day while I was waiting for a movie to start at the TCM Classic Film Festival I took photos of the hand and foot prints in the Grauman's Chinese Theatre Courtyard. It had just rained recently making the handprints, footprints and signatures stand out all the more...
