Vintage Suitcase Mystery Solved & Cat Fundraising Inspiration

Vintage suitcase mystery solved...

Today when I was waiting at the train station up in Tacoma with my blue floral suitcase a woman came up to me and said that she had the same suitcase that I did. I told her that was funny because I have four of the same suitcase. Finding the same thing over and over again in the vintage world is rare especially with clothing or accessories. The woman at the train station told me that she used to be an Avon lady back in 1972 and this suitcase is what Avon ladies would carry their wares around in. You can purchase the blue floral suitcase picture above for $26- over at marjiew on Etsy.

Some of you may wonder why I have fundraisers for cat organizations. In January of 2009 my beloved cat Olive passed away. She was such a fun loving sweetheart and my heart was absolutely broken when we had to put her to sleep, it is still really difficult for me to think of her. Olive's favorite place to hang out when I was working on the computer was on top of one of these blue floral suitcases...

When Olive passed away my friend Shannon did this painting of Olive with two of Olive's favorite things: her brush and her suitcase.
